Be the Beacon of Hope!
While progress is well underway, there are still significant infrastructure improvements that are desperately needed and, since local families lack the financial resources to support the school, the school is always in need of funds to cover ordinary expenses - food, salaries, supplies, maintenance...Please consider a gift to help us in this mission!
A dollar goes a long way in Uganda. For example:
$20 supplies a full set of 4 textbooks(Math, Social Studies, Integrated Science, English) for a student
$35 buys a 50kg sack of flour, proving enough for 150 cups of porridge!
$100 will cover soccer shorts and tees for a 12-person team
$200 purchases a double bunk bed with mattresses for one of the dorms!
$400 covers the external and internal plastering of the housing for the Headmaster and Director of Studies
$630 will cover provide all the windows (2 small, 2 large) and six doors to finish out the housing for the Headmaster and Director of Studies!
The students and teachers have made the best of their circumstances. The metal shed being used by the Primary 7 class is the same shed pictured in the 2016 photo of a "teachers lounge!"
Initally, the faculty prepared lessons and graded papers on benches beside the metal shed. Today, they use one of the two rooms of the shed. Providing space for the faculty to prepare, meet, discuss, and work is a high priority. [In the far right corner there is a glimpse of the classroom building replaced by the new building]
