As a result, some 80% of children who enter primary school fail to complete the primary levels. Many children graduate with low literacy levels and are unprepared for further education.
Atanansi Junior School began as a community built, rudimentary structure, with trained teachers, local administrators, and 89 village students in January 2016. By the summer of 2023, the school had a permanent campus with brick classrooms serving nearly 300 students.
537 students attended during the 2025 academic year!
